BBC 2012 RIDE CALENDAR

 

WEEKNIGHT RIDES:

 

Monday night ride has moved to Thursday

 

Tuesday night ride 6:00pm Downingtown B and C/D paces

Start location Victory Brewing Company parking lot east end

This ride will be between a 1 to 1 1/2 hour ride depending on daylight and conditions.

Lights are recommended. Also, bring water, snack, spare tube, the usual.

Call ride facilitator Lesa Franz 610-383-4349 day before if you have questions for the C/D ride or Russell Tanko and Gene Reed for the B ride.

 

Wednesday night ride 6:00pm Malvern Show-n-Go

This is a show-n-go ride leaving from the Municipal Park in Malvern, just one block south of King St.  Cue sheets will be available for

this ride-at-your-own-pace event.  Ride facilitator is Boyd Peart and Karen Osley.

 

Thursday night ride 6:00pm Kimberton

The weekly show and go ride departing from the Kimberton road entrance to the Kimberton Fairgrounds. 

This ride explores the varied terrain in the scenic Kimberton area and generally averages 15-16 mph.

Thursday night ride 6:00pm Eagleview B- pace

Meet by Brothers Pizza in Eagleview for this B- pace ride on some quiet roads.  There will be one or two hills; this is Chester County after all,

but no one will be dropped.  Optional dinner after the ride – byob.

Saturday May 5 Velodrome

The Valley Preferred Cycling Center Spring Velovest is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th from 8:30am-2pm

This is the area’s largest outdoor cycling market.  Over 200 vendors are expected to bring their cycling gear, a good time to scoop up

Last year’s models at rock bottom prices.  Enjoy the Cinco de mayo beer specials and Clover  Hill wines.  The event is held

Rain or shine.  1151 Moser Rd. Breinigsville PA.  Admission is $8.

Sunday May 6 - 9:30am

C pace - Out Lancaster Way 35+/-miles

Start at the Franz's for this spring time favorite.

Bring the usual, water, snack, tube etc...

Relax in the gazebo after the ride.

Meet at Nudy’s in Eagleview for a 23-mile C-paced ride.  It’s an early ride so that we can get

Beans Parking Lot (corner Gay and New St in WC)
Annual ride to remember cyclists hurt or killed on the road
This is a 10 mile ride (2 5 mile loops) in the Borough. It is suitable
for all levels

 

Saturday May 19 – 9:00 am

 In search of the source of the Perkiomen Creek.  Hilly C Ride about 40 miles starting at the Bechtelsville Walmart


It's been 2 years since an intrepid group went out and searched for the source of this mystical creek, and each time we get closer. 

Will the source provide us extra hill-climbing power, or just another great day on our bikes?  Will we find Landis Store? 

Come and find out!  Yes there are hills, and no we will not drop anyone, including the ride leader!  Queue sheets may be provided,

and if provided may be followed, and if followed we may not get lost.

Remember to bring $$ for the lunch stop.

Octoraro Ramble, 35-40 miles at
C+ pace. Somewhat hilly. Leave from Octoraro High School parking lot
at noon to accommodate late sleepers and churchgoers. Bring plenty of

Sunday June 10 – Adopt-a-Highway – 10:00am

Meet at the Wegman’s on Rt. 29/202 in Great Valley.  We will ride to the Road Cleanup, then

Take a 20-mile C-paced ride back to Wegman’s for lunch.

Our first Adopt-a-Highway event had to be cancelled due to rain, so let’s get a big group
